REYNOLDSBURG, OHIO – August 4, 2025 – The Druk Shito Kai, affiliated with Karate Do Shito Kai USA, successfully concluded a comprehensive three-day Shito Ryu Karate seminar and black belt testing this weekend. The event, which drew participants from across the United States and Canada, was hailed as a resounding success, deepening the skills and camaraderie of all involved.
Held from August 1 to August 3, the intensive Gasshuku (training seminar) focused on the core pillars of Shito Ryu Karate-do. Participants engaged in rigorous training sessions covering Kihon (basics), Kata (forms), Bunkai (application of techniques), and the specialized Nanban Sattoryu Kenpo. The seminar culminated in a formal black belt testing, assessing the candidates’ technical proficiency and spirit.
The event brought together a diverse group of 39 karateka artists, including 10 black belts, eight brown belts, 14 color belts, and seven candidates testing for their black belts. The training and testing were conducted under the esteemed guidance of Technical Director Shihan T. Rabino (7th Dan Karate Do Shito Kai USA/WSKF, 5th Dan Ryukyu Karate and Kobudo), ensuring instruction met the high standards of the World Shito-ryu Karate-do Federation (WSKF).
Despite the demanding schedule, the atmosphere was one of shared growth and dedication. Participants left the seminar with enhanced technical skills, a profound sense of accomplishment, and a renewed connection to the true spirit of karate.
Druk Shito Kai proudly congratulates its first batch of newly promoted black belts:
