Dojo Inauguration and Junior Grading Event of Druk United Shitoryu Karate-Do Academy Held Successfully

Pataskala, Ohio – December 28, 2024

The ceremony was honored by the presence of Shihan T.S. Rai, Founder of the Nepal Shitoryu Karate-Do Association and former National Chief Coach, who attended as the Chief Guest. Shihan T.S. Rai officially inaugurated the dojo by cutting the ribbon, symbolizing the beginning of a new journey under the guidance of Sensei Yadu Kuikel. His participation highlighted the academy’s commitment to preserving and promoting Shitoryu Karate-Do in the United States.

Sensei Yadu Kuikel, the dojo coach, expressed his excitement about the opening of the new dojo and his gratitude for Shihan T.S. Rai’s presence. Shihan Rai also conducted a brief yet impactful Kumite seminar for junior karatekas, inspiring them to strive for excellence and prepare for future championships.

Representing Druk Shito Kai and the Ohio Karate Club, Sensei Moni Rai and Sensei Tula Dhakal added prestige to the event by sharing their expertise and supporting the academy’s mission. During the grading test, Sensei Moni Rai acted as the Chief Examiner, ensuring that evaluations adhered to the standards of JKF Shito Kai and JKF Karate-Do Shito Kai of the USA. Sensei Ashok Pradhan from Pittsburgh, PA, who served as the Assistant Examiner, assisted him in this role.

The event concluded with a motivational address by Shihan T.S. Rai, emphasizing the principles of discipline, respect, and continuous self-improvement central to martial arts. The successful inauguration and grading test marks a significant milestone for the Druk United Shitoryu Karate-Do Academy as it nurtures and develops the next generation of accomplished karatekas.
